School Closing
May 28, 2008
Dear Parents,
It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Word of Life
Christian School will be closing at the end of this school year.
Unfortunately, the students were told through a rumor and I felt it
necessary to tell them during chapel this morning. Due to the
current shortage of land on our campus and the church's continuing
growth, the Word of Life Ministries Advisory Board has made this
decision. After months of meetings and consultation with industry
professionals, it is not possible for the church and the school to
coexist on this property.
Although the school is the strongest
it has been in several years, it is not financially able at this
juncture to purchase or lease and maintain its own building. The
school's success made the board's decision especially difficult.
Currently there is no future plan to reopen the school. Any
overpayment or tuition and fees that have been paid will be refunded
within thirty days.
Personally, I want to say thank you
to all of you that have supported WOLCS through the years. I love
you and appreciate everything you have done. In The Message bible,
Jeremiah 29:11 says, "I'll show up and take care of you as I
promised and bring you back home. I know what I'm doing. I have it
all planned out--plans to take care of you, not to abandon you,
plans to give you the future you hope for.
Praying for you,
Dell Barkley
